Newport Polo Club's Annual Lobsterbake 

             Newport Polo Club invites fans to join the Spanish Polo Team for an after-match festivity that has become an annual summer tradition  ~ an authentic New England Lobsterbake on Saturday, August 4th following the USA vs. Spain polo match .   It will be the culmination of a weekend of events to fete the Spaniards, including the International Polo Ball the night before.

The lobsterbake tradition is a unique New England-style preparation mastered by expert Dan Kelley year after year for the enjoyment of the Newport Polo Club and guests.  It involves building a fire pit lined with granite stones capable of withstanding and evenly transferring the heat of the fire.  A layer of fresh seaweed and salty sea water steams the lobsters, clams and cod, potatoes, corn and other ingredients to perfection.  Drawn butter completes the feast!

The meal will be baked and served field-side after the match, at approximately 7:30pm, under the main tent at the Newport International Polo Series, following the 5pm USA vs. Spain match.  To complete the evening, we will offer live musical entertainment by the fabulous Cintron Brothers from NYC!

Lobsterbake tickets are $40/person and must be purchased in advance, no later than Thursday, 8/2 with a credit card by calling 401-847-7090 or by mailing a check to: Newport Polo, 2503 East Main Road, Portsmouth , RI 02871.  Seating is limited and may sell out prior to the deadline.  All reservations must be paid in advance, no later than Thursday, August 2^nd .  Cash bar.  Polo match tickets sold separately at the gate.  

The Tribute Match between USA and Spain will be the featured match in the Newport International Polo Series at 5pm that day.  The two-hour match will conclude with an award ceremony and the lobsterbake.  Polo match tickets are sold separately at the entry gates for $10/adult for General Admission, kids free.  Tables may be reserved - for 8 or more people - by purchasing tickets in advance at 401-847-7090.
